What You Don’t Know About PLR - Can Hurt You!

One of the biggest things on the Internet right now is PLR.
Private Label Content (PLR) has been a hot topic in online business over the last few years. As niche marketing has increased, so has the demand for affordable original content.
PLR gives you the perfect solution!
If you’re not familiar with how PLR works, it is essentially a way for many people to “share” the same content. Since they are all given access to use or change the content, they pay significantly less.
Because other people are using the same content, you need to make it unique. Most PLR gives you the rights to modify the content and put your name on it as the author. Sometimes you have the rights to break up the content into smaller articles, combine it with other content, create audios, or videos, whatever you want! The more creative you are, the more unique your products can be.
Many online marketers would have to spend hours and hours trying to write their own content themselves. Others may have to hire a professional ghost writer to generate unique content. PLR can save hours of work and the expense of hiring a ghost writer.
But before you start using PLR in your business, there are a few things that you need to be aware of:
1. It’s important that you trust the source of your PLR content – Not all PLR content is created equal. There are many people publishing bad content that could cause you all sorts of problems.Remember, once you put your name on the content, your potential customers think that you wrote it. If it’s not well written, informative and interesting you’ll make a bad impression. Even if you’re just using the content on your website to improve search engine rankings, it has to be good quality because prospects will be reading it and judging you based on it.
2. It can be dangerous using PLR for article site submissions – Submitting articles to article directories is a great promotion strategy. In the early days of PLR many people primarily submitted PLR content to article sites. But the article directories quickly realized that many people were submitting the exact same articles. This made the article sites look bad – so they’ve changed their policies and no longer allow this. That’s okay though, because that’s probably the worst use of PLR content. It just makes you look bad if you’re publishing the exact same articles as someone else. Instead, smart marketers are using PLR content to create their own unique products. Customers are less likely to notice any overlap in the information if you do this well.
Duplicate content has become such a problem that many PLR membership sites forbid you from submitting their content to article directories. And Google, the Big Daddy of the Internet has started penalizing anyone who is using duplicate content.
3. One of the easiest ways to use PLR is to combine it with other PLR – If you use a piece of PLR content exactly as it is, the odds are that you’ll be competing directly with someone else who is offering the same product. However, if you add other PLR to it then you can create something that is unique and different. You still won’t have to do much writing, but you’ll have a product this is different from what your competitors are offering.
Using PLR content is a great way to get unique content you need for your online business. It’s affordable, can be found in many places on the Internet and is flexible. However, if you use PLR, make sure you take care to make it unique so you are not duplicating your competitors. If you need content for your blog or want to create completely unique products, PLR is a perfect choice!
