Are Membership Sites Too Difficult to Set Up?

If you are on anybody’s Internet Marketing mailing lists, you’ve probably seen the increase in the number of membership sites they are selling. It seems like the whole Internet Marketing paradigm has shifted to membership sites.

Do you know why that is?

It’s really quite a brilliant marketing plan…

Let’s say you create a product and sell it for $30 to 50 people. That’s $1500 income, one-time. The next time you want to get more income, you have to create a new product and get more people to buy it.

However, if you create a membership site for your product and offer a monthly subscription for $10 per month, and you get 50 people to sign up, that’s $500 a month income, almost guaranteed! Each month you add more value to the site, so your subscribers keep coming back and don’t cancel their subscription, and before long, you’re earning $10,000 or more per month!

I’ve been studying the membership model and am becoming more and more convinced that the membership site is probably one of the best marketing models for recurring income on the Internet.

As Internet Marketers we tend to think only in terms of Internet Marketing. I am guilty of this myself. When I think about starting a membership site, I immediately try to think of how I can differentiate myself from other Internet Marketers.

However, there are many Niches that are non-Internet Marketing related, that are great candidates for membership sites. That’s where you should concentrate your efforts (unless you’re a guru in the Internet Marketing field and have something new to offer.)

So then the question becomes, “What Niche should I choose? How do I start a membership site? What products can I offer that will bring value to my site?”

The above sites all offer free memberships. However, you should take a good look at the upgrade offers because they all offer great value and in many cases a Lifetime Upgrade for a low one-time price.
