Creating a Niche Site: Part 4 - Loading The Niche Content

Today is Part 4 of my series How To Create A Niche Site From Scratch - Loading the Niche Content.

The steps we’ve followed so far are:

  1. We Identified A Niche
  2. We Found Niche Content
  3. We Set Up The Web Site

Today we’re going to discuss how to load the content onto your site.

There are 2 ways you can load content into your niche site, write the articles yourself, or use PLR content. Because my time is limited and I don’t have the skills to write 15 or more articles about my niche, I am using PLR content.

If you do a search on the Internet you can find thousands of niche articles. The problem is, you may have to weed through a lot of sites, and irrelevant content to find articles for the niche for your site. Also, you have to make sure you are obeying the Rights of the articles that you plan on using. For example, if you scrape (swipe) articles from an article directory, you have to include the Authors Resource Box at the bottom of the article, giving credit to the author and usually a link to his web site. If you use the content outside of the rights that you are granted, you could be in for some legal issues.

On top of all that, you also have to be aware that Google is putting the Smack Down on sites that use duplicate content. This is known as The Google Slap. If you haven’t heard of that yet, please download a copy of this report about The Google Slap. Basically it is that Google is doing more than just checking for keyword usage on sites. It is also checking to see if your content on your pages is unique as well.

As I said before I lack the time and skills to create my own content, so I belong to Easy Articles Pro, which gives me 100 fresh articles every month, plus header graphic blanks so I can create my own header for my sites. Easy Articles Pro is a great value at only $27 a month for 100 niche articles. However the memberships are almost gone, and when they are filled, Doug will shut down the site to new enrollments. So, get your Easy Articles Pro membership now, before they are all gone.

Now, once you have assembled your articles and have created your graphics header, you can create your site. Again, my time is limited and though I have the skills that would allow me to create a site, I really don’t have the time to create 15 unique pages, including a links page and a sitemap. So, I use an awesome tool called Article Site Kit Pro. This tool makes it extremely easy to publish a site with as many articles as you want in less than 5 minutes. Each page is pre-coded to include your Google Adsense blocks, Amazon Affiliate blocks, article snippets, links, video snippets, and more. If you were to code this manually it would take hours to get 15 pages up. However with Article Site Kit Pro you just fill in some blanks, point the directory on your computer with your articles, and push a button and Viola! You have a site like this one!

Computer Programming RevealedThis is my first Niche web site! Go ahead and visit it, www.Computer-Programming-Revealed.com, and let me know what you think.

I mentioned above that Google is Penalizing sites with duplicate content. So, as you can see from the Easy Articles Pro site, there are at least 300 people with the same content. If all 300 decided to build a site with this content, it is possible that Google wouldn’t be too happy about that.

So, I followed the Rules outlined in The Google Slap report and customized my articles before I built the site. Yes, you’ll find that there are many sentences that are exactly the same on different web sites, but I changed enough of the content that the whole page is unique on the web. According the experts, that is what Google is looking for.

The next part of the process will be getting traffic to the site. After all, we’re in the Internet Marketing business to generate income, right? Without traffic, there will be no income.
