List Building Is All About The System!

I’ve been quiet for a few days because I’ve been really busy getting my systems in place.
When you try to build lists, which every marketer MUST do, you need to get a system in place in order to be successful.
When I say a system I mean a flow from traffic to lead to monetization.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in online conference rooms recently and have been absorbing so much information. These conferences are hosted and moderated by 5 and 6 figure earners in Internet Marketing and the information they provide is golden.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m working on a project that they handed me to complete, but I also have to get my systems in place in order for the whole process to work.
So, the first part of the system needs to be a lead capture. In order to get someone on your list, you need to offer them something of value, whether it’s an e-course or an ebook, or a membership to your site.
Once you get them on your list… wait, back up a little bit.
When they put their email address in the form and click on the Submit button (you don’t really leave the default “Submit” on the button, do you?) then you have an opportunity to provide them immediate value and make an offer. If you don’t have something on your Thank You page, then you’re missing a golden opportunity. I’ve been having great success with my Thank You page, because I offer my brand new subscriber something of great value.

The Bonus on that page has been doing very well for me. It is free to sign up, provides a lot of value, and has a high upgrade rate. So, I’m actually making money with that free offer. (Go ahead and sign up and test it out yourself.) 
Now, if you are using a professional autoresponder service, the new subscriber will receive a confirmation email that requires them to click a link to confirm that they really did subscribe to your newsletter list.
After they click the confirm link they are generally taken to a Confirmation Page. Again, a great opportunity to add value and make an offer.
I have just finished creating a new confirmation page for my latest (well version 2.0) of my ebook, Don’t Lose Your Shirt In Network Marketing. Go ahead and click that link and go through the opt-in to see that page. (I can’t just give you the goodie without the opt-in, can I?)
Anyway, the next step is your email series.
I’ll get into detail about your emails, and how to monetize your list quickly, another day.
It is key to follow this process so you can earn enough money quickly that you can afford to start sending more traffic to your opt-in form, and your funnel.

Web 2.0 sites such as the Social Networking sites, give you the opportunity to create a relationship with people and to brand you.
I just spend the last several hours setting up my Social Networking sites:

Why would I go through all the effort to set up these sites? Isn’t Internet Marketing all about building products and selling something?
NO!!
The key to long term success on the Web and really in any business is building a relationship with your customers.
These websites and others like them, allow you to share your life, and build a relationship with people. People are more likely to buy from people they like. It’s true.
If you go to a car lot and the salesman comes off as pushy or condescending, you’re not very likely to buy from him.
But if a mortgage broker calls you up and calmly explains how he has a long term goal of helping you improve your credit and pay down your debt, you’ll probably be more likely to purchase a mortgage through him.
The above example happened to me. As a matter of fact, I was so pleasantly surprised by the way he discussed his plan, that I told my wife I’d be a fool not to purchase a mortgage from him because it made sense and seemed like he was trying to help us!
So, take the opportunity (and time) to join some of these sites and set up your profiles. Let people know who you are, what your goals are, why you’re building a home based business, and what your life is like.
You’ll be surprised at how many true friends you’ll make if you are consistent and truthful in your follow up.

There really is no value you can put on that kind of coaching, but I’d venture to guess it was more than $1,000. And they stayed on for 2 hours (or at least that is when I dropped of the conference to go get my dinner).
That is what makes the traffic exchange community unique, they share openly, if you just ask. I have made some really great friends in that circle. They are open and giving, but you have to put forth the effort.

GIMP Videos - Just What I’ve Been Looking For!

GIMP is a free graphics editing software program that is on par with the expensive ones like Photoshop and Corel Photopaint.
I’ve been dabbling in GIMP for several months and have been scouring the Internet for any tutorials that could teach me how to make a simple ebook cover, let alone an advanced Web 2.0 fancy looking graphic. Until now I haven’t been able to find what I’ve been looking for.
But now, Stan has just created GIMP Videos, a set of 12 step-by-step how-to videos that will show you how to use GIMP (again it’s free) to create impressive graphics for your web sites and products.
I’ve spent several hours today going through the videos and am impressed at the quality and detail he goes into while explaining how to use GIMP.
I’ve learned more today than I’ve learned in all the months of my online searching for GIMP tutorials.
